We are group of motivators working together to create an after school program of support for the kids in Laguna Beach. Our goal is to build stronger academic skills in Reading, Writing and Math. Knowledge of standardization for state testing will assist in increasing Test-taking and Study Skills. Your child will attain better focus and concentration. In an atmosphere of patience and encouragement, your child will gain confidence and motivation will grow.
A comprehensive writing program that includes the fundamentals used in the UCI writing workshop for grades 6-8.
Fundamental skills for elementary school including the basics of mathematics, multiplication and division. Reading skills, including memorization and spelling. Handwriting instruction will encourage fine motor skills.
College Preparatory Instruction for the ACT and SAT. Help with writing essays and all academic subjects.
Sue Ezzell and Christine Kunkel are both credentialed teachers who have taught in all the local schools and for the city of Laguna Beach for many years. Their knowledge of the skills necessary to bring kids forward in an uplifting and supportive environment is invaluable. They know how bring out the best in children by encouraging their efforts and making work fun.
Krista Northridge, a young attorney and graduate of The University of California, Hastings College of Law and Stanford. Krista has been working recently as a College Counselor, and Test Prep Instructor. She will also be available to our high school students for private tutoring in any subject and valuable essay writing lessons.
Mike Root, who is a working nuclear engineer. He will be available to offer this assistance and valuable knowledge to the children in our program from time to time.
Fletcher Dice, a local substitute teacher will also assist in our program. She is a talented artist, whose continuous travels around the world are an inspiration to all of us.
